A new Forest School site

Updated: Oct 22, 2022

We will be opening our second site shortly!

We have been made to feel very at home by Thames Water at their Hogsmill Nature Reserve in Kingston. The site will enable us to expand our offer to children who are in need of an Alternative Provision. The site will run for five days a week when fully operational and referrals can be made in the usual way.

The site, which is overlooked by Berrylands Station platform, will feel familiar to the children and will have an outdoor cabin, an allotment and of course a fire circle as well as lots of trees and open space.

The nature reserve is an 8-acre sanctuary for wildlife in the heart of Kingston-upon-Thames. We will be taking possession of a corner of the reserve that will offer a secure site to allow our children to explore and have fun in an urban woodland.

We will have access to the wider reserve which is a haven for all sorts of wildlife. 160 species of bird have been recorded at Hogsmill, majestic peregrine falcons, sparrow hawks, and kestrels glide through the sky. Pochards, wigeons, teals, sandpipers, and snipes float among the lagoon reeds. The 4-acre lagoon offers a glimpse of the aquatic side of nature. Home to waterfowl, waders, songbirds, kingfishers, newts, butterflies, dragonflies, and damselflies.

Our second site, set in the corner of a nature reserve
