We are very happy to announce that Jo Land is to become our lead volunteer and will be helping develop our allotment for community use.
Jo is a trained garden designer and is passionate about the benefits horticulture and the
outdoor environment has on mental and physical wellbeing.
She volunteered at a therapy garden working with both vulnerable children and adults and has completed courses with Thrive, the therapeutic horticulture charity.
Joanna is currently working as Clerical Assistant as St John’s Primary School where our allotment is based.
Jo Said, "I'm delighted to be able to help out and help develop the space. Working in the office every day I have seen first hand the hugely positive impact Forest School has had on the children’s mental and physical well-being when they return from 2 hours of fun and activities outside".
Jo's main responsibilities will be to form and lead a small team of volunteers to help us maintain our allotment. She will develop our allotment so that it can be enjoyed by the children during school hours and allotment volunteers and team members after school hours and at weekends.
If you wish to sign up to lend a hand on the project please let us know who you are and we will add you to our allotment mailing list and Jo will be in touch!
